When we lived in our old house back in California, laundry is something I dreaded. The washer and dryer were.. lord knows how old and we were constantly dealing with the washing machine overflowing or the dryer not efficiently drying our loads. Laundry was an all day event. The matter only worsened when we added a baby to the mix and our first born, Caden entered the picture. Babies+blowouts+spills=lots of laundry. I was SO happy to leave behind the washer and dryer behind when we moved to Colorado! Our new house did not come with a washer and dryer and I was a little relieved because it meant we could pick out something new that would be a good fit for our family! We went to Home Depot and purchased the Samsung High-Efficiency Front Load Washer and Samsung Electric Dryer in white!
It was like Christmas day having a new beautiful washer and dryer set delivered to our home! What attracted us to these Samsung models were the reviews and the variety of features our old machines never offered. There are 9 wash cycles to choose from, as well as 8 preset wash cycles. The best part is the 1200 RPM maximum speed cycle so our clothes get done faster! We now have 3 kiddos ages 6.5 yrs, 4.5 yrs and 2 yrs old and I do at least one load of laundry everyday. Our Samsung washer and dryer are so quick and efficient that I don’t mind. If I am running a fairly small load of laundry that isn’t that dirty, then I opt for the “Quick Wash” option on cold, which takes 20 minutes. I also select the “Quick Dry”setting on the dryer, and this dries the load as quickly as possibly based off how much moisture it detects. The entire process takes roughly only 40-45 mins. Whether it is colors or whites, I typically always wash with cold water to preserve the colors and because it is gentler on the fibers. For household towels and everyone’s bedding I love using the preset “Bedding” or “Heavy Duty” settings with warm water. Our clothes, bedding, and towels always turn out great and the washer does an excellent job of cleaning.
All the kids started school a couple months ago and I have been doing some major organizing and cleaning for Fall. Purging clothes that are too small, shopping for new ones and washing those that have been stored away during summer. I have started going through the boys’ clothes first and getting all their shirts and pants ready to go. Throughout the school year, my rough and tumble boys often come home with grass stains, dirt stains, food…you name it! Some clothes are a lost cause but other ones are too cute to toss. I am so glad that with the help of some great detergent and my awesome Samsung washer…I don’t have to throw cute clothes away. Holden receives a lot of hand-me-downs from Caden and a lot of that wouldn’t be possible without a great washing machine!
Payton wears lots of pink and white, which means stains show very easily. At 2 years old, she isn’t the most skilled eater, so I am pretty pro at removing watermelon and spaghetti stains at this point! She is in between a size 2T and 3T right now and a lot of her clothing fits her perfectly. A lot of her clothing also happens to be 100% cotton, which means I don’t want it to shrink! When drying her clothes I typically choose the “Delicates” or “Wrinkle Release” options so that the clothes are gently dried. If I am really concerned about shrinkage then I hang dry clothes on my cute octopus drying hanger! I love that both the Samsung washer and dryer are so quiet while running! I can barely hear them and I wouldn’t even know they were finished without the nice melody signal that goes off. You can also silence the melody if you prefer but I like hearing when they have completed a cycle. Getting ready for the kids to go back to school can be hectic and full of stress, but I am so happy that laundry doesn’t have to be one of them!
